Frequently Asked Questions
Creating your Phoenix Wick candle is a fun and easy process! Here are the steps:
- Remove the wax from the compostable bag and place it in a microwave-safe container.
- Heat the wax in the microwave. Heat 2 minutes for a 14oz kit and 1.5 minutes for 7oz kit. After this time, heat in 30-second intervals until the wax is fully melted.
- While the wax is melting, prep your candle jar. Clean it with the provided alcohol pad and make sure it's dry. Stick the adhesive wick to the bottom of the jar.
- Once the wax is fully melted, carefully pour it into the jar. Watch as the wax fills the jar, forming around the wick.
- Let the candle solidify. This can take a few hours, so be patient! Once the wax is completely hard, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch.
- Now your Phoenix Wick candle is ready to burn! For the best results, always burn your candle for 1-4 hours at a time.
Phoenix Wick candles are designed to provide you with long-lasting fragrance. Our 7oz candles burn for approximately 50 hours, and our 14oz candles can burn for up to 100 hours.
Phoenix Wick candles come in two sizes. We offer a 7oz refill that includes a wick for a 3" diameter candle jar and a 14oz refill that includes a wick for a 4" diameter candle jar.
Our refills are made for 7oz, 3" x 3" jars and 14oz, 4" x 4" jars. The diameter of your jar should determine the size of refill you choose. Please do not use a 3" diameter refill with a 4" diameter jar as the candle will tunnel. If you use a 4" diameter refill for a 3" diameter jar, the candle will burn quicker than the specified number of hours.
Is your jar taller then what is specified? Order two kits to extend the life of your candle!
Phoenix Wick candles are made of a soy wax blend, the pouches are made of compostable wax paper, and the wicks are 100% cotton.
Phoenix Wick candles are just as safe as any other candle. For safety precautions, always burn candles within sight and keep them away from drafts and vibrations. Ensure they are out of reach of children and pets and are not burning near anything that can catch fire. Always trim the wick to 1/4" before lighting and keep the candle free of any foreign materials including matches and wick trimmings. Only burn the candle on a level, fire resistant surface, and do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
Yes, you can! In fact, we recommend heating the pouch in 30-second intervals after the initial 1.5 to 2 minutes until the wax is fully melted to avoid overheating.
If your Phoenix Wick candle is tunneling, ensure that you've chosen the correct diameter of refill for your candle jar size. A refill diameter smaller than your candle jar size will cause tunneling.
Typically, allowing your candle to burn long enough for the entire top layer of wax to melt every time you light it can help prevent tunneling. If the problem persists, please contact our customer service
